Originally built in 1892, The Abbey began as Sacred Heart Catholic Church - an iconic and cherished landmark in the heart of Salisbury, North Carolina. With its stunning Gothic Revival architecture, stained glass windows, and hand-crafted wooden details, the building has long served as a symbol of reverence and beauty in the community.
After the congregation moved to a new location, the church building fell into disrepair. In 2021, Mike and Lori Diefenbach saw its potential and stepped
in to preserve this piece of history. With care and vision, they lovingly restored the space to maintain its historic significance and breathtaking beauty, giving it new life as a wedding venue.
Today, The Abbey has been reimagined as a place where timeless elegance meets personal celebration. While no longer affiliated with a church, we welcome couples of all backgrounds, beliefs, and love stories to begin their next chapter in this unforgettable space.
